Working with Directors of Education and Local Councils

POET works with Boroughs and Schools in a three year programme within each Education Authority boundary. Participating schools are required to follow a structured programme through which each child will become more familiar with the selected opera, the characters, and the story.

POET monitors the performance of the participating schools to
ensure that they are following the programme correctly.

The culmination of the programme is a live performance of the chosen opera before an audience of approximately 200 children.  The opera is performed in its original language.  For the vast majority of children it is their first experience of opera and of the excitement and pleasure which a live event can generate.

Partnerships

POET is constantly on the look out for new Education Authorities with which to partner.  If you are involved in children’s education, whether as a Director of Education or a Local Councillor with responsibility for Education, and would be interested in implementing a programme within your locality, please do not hesitate to get in contact with us.  Details of how to get in contact can be found on our contacts page.
